I know its been a long time since you've heard from me, but that was because there was a cyclone in Chennai and it blew away all the fibernet cables, and we just got the internet restored. I will post a recount about the cyclone in detail on my blog, Vidhya Scribbles. In this post, I will list out all the things to remember about 2K16 and the bad things to just permanently erase from my memory about this year.

Let's start with the bright side.

1. A trip with friends

In 2K16, my friends and I went on a memorable camping trip to Yelagiri, a scenic hill station. To read about the trip (funny moments, scenic descriptions, recounts, scary times...)  click here.

2. Getting a cell phone

I got my very first cell phone in 2K16. It was an elegant moto e (2nd generation) with a selfie camera which was cased in a beautiful purple cookie case. To find out what happened to it, just scroll down a little.

3. Officially became a decent cook

Not much of an achievement, but...
I don't think I was ever a bad cook, but I officially began to cook whole meals in 2K16 instead of making just the main course or a desert. I now serve what MasterChef judges call "restaurant quality food." To check out one of my recipes, click here.

4. Learned a new language

I had to learn Hindi in a couple weeks. With the help of guides like "Learn Hindi in a month" and "Instant: Spoken Hindi" I managed to pick up some of the lingo.

5. Vidhya Scribbles crossed 2000 pageviews

Somewhere in the middle of the year, my blog, Vidhya Scribbles, crossed 2K pageviews! It's all thanks to my viewers!

Face it, I survived a cyclone.

Now, lets look at the horrid things that happened:

1. Lost a cell phone:

I lost a cell phone in the most peculiar way possible: By spilling ink over it. I tried fixing it, but then in the end it was just bye-bye moto e, hello "How Could You Possibly Be Such An Irresponsible Idiot" lectures.

A LOT OF HORRID THINGS HAPPENED TO ME! I'VE LOST MY PATIENCE ELABORATING!

I left a school where I fitted in with everyone.

I kept thinking last year was horrible but this year is even worse.

I read Twilight!

I  almost forgot how to do math after learning new theorems

I yelled a lot.

END OF STORY.

To be honest with my readers, 2K17 isn't any better than 2K17. All I'm doing now is hanging on to the good moments, chiding myself for letting yet another year just go by. I haven't bothered to make any resolutions, as I told Janani (aka Yuki) earlier in an email. I always make some up and by the time we're ten days into the new year, I've forgotten all the resolutions. This year, I've simply decided against it.

Do you have any resolutions? If you do, feel free to tell us in the comments below! Stay tuned!

Happy New Year 2K17! Post #4: Anime Review

Hi guys! Sorry we haven't been posting lately, there was a cyclone in our city and we had no power 😞. But now Akshaya and Janani are back with a new anime review for the year 2K17!

(Slightly long post. Sorry. It's worth reading, though. 😃)

 *WARNING*
There are no major spoilers but the plot itself is quite shocking, so if you want watch the first episode and come back 😊

Story:

Yuki Takeya is a cheerful school girl who, along with her friends Kurumi Ebisuzawa, Yūki Wakasa, and Miki Naoki, is a member of the Megurigaoka Private High School's School Living Club.
As Yuki seeks out fun school activities every day while living at school, Yuki thinks school is wonderful with great friends and helpful teachers.
But reality is much harsher, and they are actually the sole survivors of their school after a zombie outbreak overruns the city and the wonderful school is just Yuki's delusion as she cannot cope with the reality of a zombie apocalypse.

Characters:

The characters in contrast to  the show (which is horror  and survival) are your typical moe blobs. Big eyes, childlike looks  and really charming  and sweet personalities. All their personalities  however do have layers and are distinctly different.

Yuki Takeya: A bright and cheerful girl who is always excited to try new and exciting club activities. As result of a mental breakdown due to the zombie outbreak, Yuki has created an idealized delusion for herself, believing that everything is normal and her classmates and teachers are alive and well. Slowly, she realizes the truth of her surroundings, but still acts oblivious, though she will panic on occasions when her delusion breaks down and she sees reality for what it is.

Kurumi  Ebisuzawa: A twin-tailed member of the School Living Club, who is often sent out on the more dangerous missions. She carries a shovel around with her at all times in case of zombie encounters. She was formerly on the track team. She is very brave and loyal and always helps he friends in their times of need.she has a feisty personality but isn't like other anime girls who are just violent for no reason(which is nice to see and it reflects reality).she is also protective of her friend Yuki.

Yūri Wakasa: The president of the School Living Club, nicknamed "Rī-San. She is the one who manages food, electricity, lessons, and so on. Even though she acts as a strong girl and big sister for the other members, she is extremely mentally fragile, growing more unstable as the stakes get higher.

Miki Naoki: A blonde-haired girl who is a year below the other girls and is nicknamed Mī-kun by Yuki, much to her dismay. She was rescued by the School Living Club where she had been living since the outbreak. She initially dislikes the way Kurumi and Yuri play along with Yuki's delusions, but later comes to understand how she helps them. She also becomes kind and soft, opening her true self to other members, and is especially close to both Yuki and Kurumi.

Megumi Sakura: A teacher and the adviser for the School Living Club who is affectionately called "Megu-ne by her students, forming the club to protect the girls when the outbreak occurred. While initially shown to be a teacher with rather little presence, often being interrupted by the other girls.

And that's about it... No major spoilers! To find out what happens, we suggest you go watch the episode and find out yourself! We will update the post with our final verdict shortly. Have a great 2K17!

Hi! It's Janani and Akshaya, aka Yuki-chan and Aki-chan. We've decided to do an anime review today! This review is about sports manga, Kuroko no basket. Let's get started!

Story: The basketball team of Teiko Middle School rose to distinction by demolishing all competition. The regulars of the team became known as the "Generation of Miracles". After graduating from middle school, these five stars went to different high schools with top basketball teams.

However, a fact a few people know is that there was another player in the "Generation of Miracles": a sixth man. This mysterious player is now a freshman at Seirin High School, a new school with a powerful team.

Now, Kuroko – "the sixth member of the "Generation of Miracles", and Taiga Kagami – a naturally talented player, aim to bring Seirin High School to the top of Japan and begin taking on Kuroko's former teammates one by one.

In the end, Seirin High reaches the top of Japan.

The Characters: The main characters are Tetsuya Kuroko (obviously) and Taiga Kagami. The characters are pretty much each other's opposite, Kuroko being silent and often disappearing, where as Kagami is loud, bold and wants to beat the generation of miracles.

But they learn that they work well together in the basketball court. The other important characters are the players in Kuroko and Kagami's team their coach and the five generation of miracles.

Animation and Art: This is produced by Production I.G,  a great animation studio. The animation during the games was excellent, keeping up with the tension while playing. The manga was written and illustrated by Tadatoshi Fujimaki.

Final verdict: We rate Kuroko no basket 4/5 stars. Remember, these are just our opinion and thoughts. Please feel free to share yours here in the comments below.

Technically, this picture is supposed to be the Earth before it was inhabited by humans.

There's a lake, full of bright, beautiful fish, and other underwater creatures, who live in peace. They don't have any worries such creatures have now, like dying of pollution, or being hunted down. The food chain is perfect and undisturbed. Cocktails grow in bunches near the lake shore, where deer come to have a drink. Trees grow nearby the shore, where birds build their cozy nests. Bushes surround the lake, where many insects live in harmony. Behind the trees is a dense forest, where the trees grow wildly and beasts live happily. Up in the mountains live the wilder, ferocious animals, who only come down if food is dry.

Basically, the artist is trying to tell you that life was perfect on Earth before we came along.

                                                              OUR THOUGHTS:

Vidhya says this artist has a point. Animals lived in peace until we came along. But can we really help it? We didn't make ourselves be born on this planet. Besides, animals used products of nature as well. We just sort of used our sixth sense and took it to the next level. Instead of putting cacao beans on our faces, we us Vaseline cacao cream. On the other hand, the painting looks beautiful. It deserves a 5 star rating.

The other bloggers will add in their thoughts shortly. Stay tuned!

Post #1: Plight of Princess Yuki

We decided to get inspired for our first post! What's better than sitting on a comfy armchair, reading adventurous stories on your laptop while sipping a hot cocoa? Well that's what we've got for all the kids out there! Its the season of the year when it starts getting chilly, and the nights get longer while the days are shorter. Pretty much the perfect time to be inside the house, cozy and warm. I am not much of an inside person myself. It gets boring when your favorite blogs and YouTube channels don't post anything. Don't worry, we've got you covered! Go on reading, to find out the story of our beloved princess Yuki!

Yuki was the princess of the land of bamboos and greens (Now known as Japan). She was quite stressed, because her parents constantly compared her with her twin sister, Yasmin. This resulted in the slight frown on her face. Otherwise, she was very pretty. Long strands of silver hair ran down her shoulders and her eyes were beautifully blue. Yuki hated being cooped up in the palace and the royal gardens which were full of weeds and thorns. She usually ran down to the village, where she made many friends. Her parents expected her to be proper, and princess-like, but she wasn't. She loved to bake, and got messy all the time. Her parents wanted her to dance gracefully, but she was a horrid dancer and always tripped when she wore high heels.

Yuki was the older twin, so she was supposed to inherit the kingdom from her parents. She wanted to reduce the heavy taxes and abolish the strict rules. She wanted everyone to be treated equally and give her people some civil rights. Yasmin liked the kingdom the way it was, with loads of taxes and heavy fines for the smallest mistakes. Since the king and queen doted on Yasmin, they wanted her to become queen, even though it was against the law. Both twins were aware of this. Yasmin plotted to kill Yuki and make it look like an accident, by poisoning her at the blood ball.

DID SHE SUCCEED? STAY TUNED TO FIND OUT!
